More Parañaque families listed in 4Ps program

THE Local Government Unit of Parañaque under the leadership of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. has re-affirmed its support for the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), listing more qualified families in the program.

4Ps is a poverty reduction scheme that provides health, nutrition and education services to extremely poor households of children ages 0-14 years old.

Locally, it is handled by the Parañaque City Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Mr. Dean Calleja in coordination with DSWD-NCR.

“We are grateful that the DSWD is implementing 4Ps in Parañaque.

We are glad that this year, more families will be able to benefit from the program.”, Mayor Bernabe said.

The DSWD is responsible for selecting potential household beneficiaries using its National Household Targeting System while the Parañaque City Government is charged with the responsibility of providing all services required by the program and other supply needs to meet the expected demands of 4Ps household beneficiaries as a requirement for them to avail of the program.

Last year, a total of 1,029 poor families were listed in the program. This year, 282 families are expected to be added to the beneficiary list.
