Senior citizens in Muntinlupa who are 90 years old and above will receive a monthly allowance from the Muntinlupa City government.

The Muntinlupa City Council passed Ordinance 14-038 which grants nonagenarians, or those who are 90 to 99 years old, with P1,000 allowance every month, and centenarians, or those who are 100 years old and above, with P2,000 every month.

The financial assistance was one of the programs requested by the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) in Muntinlupa for its members.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi said senior citizens in Muntinlupa are currently given perks and benefits such as free movie passes in cinemas within the city, priority parking spaces in public places, priority lanes in establishments and discounts. (Jonathan Hicap)
