Man who robbed RCBC Alabang falls after 15 years

MANILA (UPDATE) – A bank robber included in the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) list of most wanted persons was arrested after evading the law for almost 15 years.

Bingbong Kapina, 45, was arrested in Upper Tabiran in Kabuntalan, Maguindanao, according to Deputy Director General Felipe Rojas Jr., PNP Deputy Chief for Administration.

Kapina is a suspect in the killing of a vault custodian during a robbery incident at the Alabang branch of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) in June 1999. He had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court Branch 276.

Kapina, who had a P700,000 bounty on his head, was brought to Camp Crame and then to Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court for inquest proceedings.
