Man killed in Paranaque fire
MANILA, Philippines – A waiter was killed after he was trapped inside a commercial establishment that was hit by a fire in Paranaque City this morning, a radio report said.
The charred body of Martin Medallada, a stay-in waiter of a videoke bar, was pulled from the debris caused by the blaze on Sucat Road, Paranaque.
Initial report disclosed that the fire started before 11 a.m. and was raised to the third alarm.
The blaze, which destroyed around seven homes and commercial establishments in the area, was put out around 11:34 a.m.
Authorities have placed the extent of damage at P500,000. They are still looking into the cause of the fire. – By Dennis Carcamo (Philstar News Service, www.philstar.com)
