LRT, MRT to follow regular weekend sked on Christmas Day

Commuters can still avail of the Light and Metro Rail Transit (LRT/MRT) systems on Christmas Day, the LRT Administration said Thursday.

 

LRTA spokesman Hernando Cabrera said both rail systems will operate on Christmas Day, a Sunday, using the regular weekend schedule.

 

“Merong LRT at MRT operation on Dec. 25. For LRT, regular weekend schedule ang ipatutupad sa Dec. 25,” Cabrera said on his Twitter account.

 

Under the LRT-1 weekend and/or holiday schedule, the first train leaves the Baclaran station bound for Roosevelt Station at 5 a.m.

 

Its last northbound train leaves Baclaran for Roosevelt at 9 p.m., while the last southbound train leaves Roosevelt for Baclaran at 9:30 p.m.

 

The LRT-2 starts weekend operations at 5 a.m., with the last train leaving the Recto station for Santolan at 9:30 p.m.

 

The LRT-1 links Baclaran in southern Metro Manila with Quezon City. The LRT-2 links Santolan in Marikina City and Recto in Manila.

 

On the other hand, the MRT-3 links North Avenue in Quezon City and Taft Avenue in Pasay City. — LBG, GMA News
