LP Mayor Nene Aguilar files for reelection

Las Pinas City Mayor Vergel Aguilar (seated right) accompanied by his wife former Mayor Imelda Aguilar, files his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) under the Nationalista Party before the Commissions on Elections in Las Pinas City yesterday. Mayor Aguilar is seeking reelection together with Councilor Luis Bustamante (seated left), who wants to regain his former position as Vice Mayor. Looking on are some of the 12 candidates who also filed their COCs for councilor (from left) Ruben Ramos, Mark Anthony Santos, Carlo Aguilar, Renato Dumlao, Rex Riguera, Steve Miranda and Benjamin Quilatan. Not in photo are Henry Medina, Danilo Hernandez, Dennis Aguilar, Oscar Pena and Leopoldo Benedicto. Aguilar, who ran and won as independent in the 2007 elections supports the advocacies of his brother-in-law Manny Villar, standard bearer of Nationalista Party, bringing to fore poverty alleviation, environment protection and social justice.
