Liberation of Parañaque celeb set

Parañaque City Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. will join the city’s World War II veterans in the commemoration of the 66th Anniversary of the Liberation of Parañaque on February 4, 2011.
     The event is organized yearly by the 16th Parañaque Veterans District/VFP, NCR to honor the courage and sacrifice of Parañaqueños who fought and died for their country in the Second World War and to instill the virtue of patriotism among fellow citizens.
     “Many Parañaqueños sacrificed their lives in the name of freedom. It is fitting that we honor the memory of their courage, valor, gallantry and love of country.” Mayor Bernabe said.

     The traditional wreath-laying by surviving veterans and city officials and flower offering by the widows and sons and daughters of veterans will be held at the Parañaque Veterans Memorial Monument. Program proper will follow at the San Dionisio Multi-Purpose Gymnasium after a civic-military parade.

Cmdr.); Paulino Villareal (Sec./Adjutant); Ismael Allanigue (Auditor); Florence Nellie Noriel (PRO); Pablo Santos (Asst. PRO); Anacorita de Leon (Bus. Manager); Lydia Peñafuerte (Chaplain); Emilio Lopez (Bus. Mgr.); Julia Santos (Sgt.-at-Arms); Post Commanders Paulino Villareal; Feliciano Frijas; Marcial de la Isla; Lauro Chavez; Primo Paulino; Ricardo de la Cruz; Pio Berenguel; and Cezar Toledanes; Advisory Council Members Dr. Arsenio Santiago and Florence Nellie Noriel.
