AUTHORITIES raised on Monday the reward money that has been offered in exchange for information that could lead to the solution of the killing of Kristelle “Kae” Davantes.

From P200,000, the reward money has been increased to P500,000 after the city government of Las Piñas offered an additional P300,000.

The additional reward was announced by Las Piñas Mayor Vergel Aguilar, who said the offer was approved by the city council.

Aguilar said the city government hopes that the increase in the reward money could help in the early solution of the killing of the 25-year-old account executive, whose body was found in Silang, Cavite, more than a week ago.

Meanwhile, members of the police Scene of the Crime Operations personnel continue to work on the recovered vehicle of Davantes, hoping they could lift important pieces of evidence that could shed light into the case.

Chief Supt. Christopher Laxa, commander of Special Investigation Task Group Kae,  said that while the investigation maybe moving a little bit slow, the task group would ensure that the real killers will be arrested.

Laxa said investigators are not trading concrete results with time, because what is more important is the solution of the crime and the arrest of the real killers.

Davantes’s vehicle, a Toyota Corolla Altis with license plate PIM 966, was found by the police on Saturday night at Camella 4, Barangay Pamplona 3, Las Piñas City.

The car, whose plate has been removed along with its seats, was identified through its conduction sticker. Davantes’s relatives confirmed that the car was indeed the victim’s vehicle.

The police said the vehicle was brought there by still-unidentified persons between 9 and 11 p.m., and was reported by residents to barangay watchmen of Pamplona 3, who, in turn, reported it to the police.
