Las Piñas adopts measures to fast track permits process

In a bid to further improve the services and encourage more investments in the city, Las Piñas City Mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar directed the Business and Building Permit Officials to reduce to the barest minimum the documentary requirements to operate a business.

The directive is in response to the call of President Benigno Aquino III to streamline the process in getting a business permit in the local government. Mayor Aguilar explained that even before PNoy’s directive, Las Piñas has already reduced the transaction time from five days to three days provided that requirements are complied with.

To further reduce time in securing business permit, Aguilar appealed to the public to complete the necessary documents to facilitate and fast track the issuance of license and certificate to operate.

The mayor likewise urged the public to directly deal with legitimate city hall employees to avoid falling prey to unscrupulous individuals or fixers. He also issued stern warning that individuals found exacting or soliciting money from taxpayers shall be dealt with to the fullest of the law.

Meanwhile, Aguilar has ordered the creation of a task force to study, review and recommend necessary measures and polices to further improve and make the streamlining processes more successful.

Las Piñas started the some renovation and improvement works to house in one roof all the offices that issue permits to provide convenience to the transacting public as part of the one-shop-stop program.

Aguilar said that once the renovation is completed, the lobby will be fully air-conditioned and all processing systems computerized with complete amenities similar to any corporate office to make every transacting public comfortable.

The taxpayer’s lobby will also serve as one-stop-shop center for local government transactions. (END)
