Kasalang Bayan held in Paranaque

108 couples from Parañaque’s sixteen barangays were wed on Friday, March 30, 2012 in civil ceremonies officiated by City Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr.  at the Parañaque Sports Complex.

Coordinated by the Office of the Mayor, City Secretariat, YSDO adviser Carlo Bernabe and the Office of Councilor Benjo Bernabe, the public wedding provided opportunities for couples to legalize their union and presented the means for the legitimization of children born out of wedlock.

“The celebration of marriage is a most special event in couple’s lives. It signifies the joining of two hearts and the strengthening of their union. We congratulate our newly-weds, wish them a good married life and urge them to love and support one another, care for and teach their children well.” Mayor Jun Bernabe said.

Apart from the gift of matrimony, the newly-weds were given presents including a wedding banquet, complete with a community wedding cake and champagne for the toast to happiness, good health and good life together plus free nuptial photographs and grocery baskets that symbolizes family prosperity.
