Job Fair in Paranaque on Feb. 5

Parañaque residents are in for a big treat as the city administration greets new year 2010 with an activity designed to help its citizens find gainful employment.

The Parañaque City Government under the leadership of Mayor Florencio M. Bernabe, Jr. in cooperation with SM City Sucat will be hosting a job fair on Feb. 5, 2010. It will be take place at the Events Center, Building B of SM City Sucat in Brgy. San Dionisio, this city and will run from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Dubbed as “Mayor Bernabe Job Fair 2010”, the activity is dedicated to the Mayor who celebrates his birthday on even date and for the benefit of the locals who are seeking jobs.

The job fair is being coordinated by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Parañaque Livelihood Resource Management Office (PLRMO) headed by Ms. Doris Marquez. The said department is the city government’s frontline service in providing citizens the necessary job skills and opportunities for employment and community-based income-generating projects.

“Getting a job is important because apart from providing individuals a source of income, it builds his self-esteem and character. By this, he is also able to contribute to the growth and development of the community and economy. By holding job fairs, we hope to provide our constituents with more employment opportunities.” Mayor Bernabe said.

Various companies in different fields of business will be taking part in the event.

Applicants must be ready with resumes, photos, copies of transcript of records, diplomas, police and NBI clearances. Interested parties can make inquiries with the PLRMO through telephones 820-6527 and 28.

This is the 21st job fair that the PLRMO has hosted from the time Mayor Jun Bernabe assumed his first term of office in 2004, through his second term starting in 2007 and onward to date. (Public Information Office)
