Hold up suspects arrested in Paranaque

Following the intensification of the campaign against crime in Parañaque, three holdup suspects were put behind bars joining the likes of them who were earlier arrested for separate crimes.  

     The suspects were identified as drivers Nestor Esquillo, 39 yrs. old, a native of Samar residing in Las Piñas City; Rizalito Cabral from Tondo Manila and Gerry Prada, 28 yrs. old, a native of Cagayan De Oro City with postal address in Olongapo City.

     The three are accused of robbing 22 year old Korean National Hyemin Kim

     According to police reports, the victim boarded the taxi driven by suspect Esquillo near the Hyatt Hotel, Malate going to Resort World Dormitory. Esquillo later picked up his cohorts and divested the Korean of cash in his possession.  They later forced Kim to withdraw money using her BDO ATM card at SM Sucat. The victim said she was later dropped off along Tomas Claudio St. in Brgy. Baclaran.

     After jotting down the plate number of the said taxi, the victim reported the incident to barangay tanods who coordinated with the Parañaque PNP. Suspects Prada and Cabral were immediately arrested while filling up at the Uni Oil Gas Station along Airport Road.  Esquillo was later apprehended on the information given by Cabral.

     Evidence recovered from the suspects include one unit taxi with marking Ram Star with license plate #TXR-564; the vicitim’s BDO ATM card and LG mobile; P9,060.00 cash and one fan knife.  The victim positively identified the suspects.  

     “The quick response and immediate apprehension of the three suspects shows our commitment and preparedness in fighting crime and our resolve in protecting our citizens and visitors. Parañaque is a peaceful city, lawless elements do not have a place here.” Mayor Jun Bernabe said.
