MANILA – A paper bag containing a grenade was found in a drugstore in Muntinlupa on Tuesday afternoon.

Police authorities were immediately alerted after vendors at the Alabang Public Market noticed a paper bag left behind in a drugstore at around 1 p.m.

Police then brought the bag to a vacant lot in Filinvest, where it was opened.

Authorities confirmed that a pouch inside the paper bag contained an MK2 fragmentation grenade.

The grenade still had its safety pin, police said.

According to a security officer of the public market, a Molotov bomb had been thrown at the same drugstore in the past.

The drugstore suspended operations for today.

Authorities will review closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage at the market to possibly identify who left the paper bag. — Report from Maan Macapagal, ABS-CBN News
