Some 3,000 employees of the Las Pinas City government will have an early Christmas celebration this year following the recent release of their 13th month pay.
The employees likewise received P5,000 Christmas bonus, P2,000 productivity bonus on top of a P3,000 cash gift (monetization) from the city government.
Mayor Vergel “Nene’ Aguilar said he ordered the early release to assist employees affected by recent calamities and to help them cope with rising prices following the lifting of the price freeze on basic commodities.
Prices of basic goods is expected to rise with the onset of the holiday seasons, Aguilar said.
In addition, he wanted to ensure that city government workers would have enough money to cope with expenses during the holiday season.
Meanwhile, the mayor commended the city treasury office for the efficient collection of revenues and competent handling of the city coffers which made them possible to pay all the bonuses and benefits of the city workers and employees on time.- Frontline.PH
