Counter Strike players in Las Pinas kill someone for real

MANILA, Philippines – A 25-year-old man was beaten and stabbed dead by players who kept on losing in the first-person shooter video game “Counter-Strike” at a computer shop in Las Piñas City after midnight Monday.

Eric Cristobal, a resident of Casimiro Townhomes, was playing when he was attacked by a certain “Puti” and two other players. “The suspect got angry when lost consistently in the game,” city police chief Senior Superintendent Romulo Sapitula said.

The players, whose names were not disclosed, were arrested by police. Sapitula said he will meet with computer shop owners to avoid a repeat of the incident.
