98 Muntinlupa SMEs receive 0% interest loan from local gov’t

Committed to assist budding entrepreneurs in the city, the local government of Muntinlupa rolled out the distribution of zero-percent interest loan assistance to 98 SMEs dubbed as “Muntipreneurs.”

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi led the distribution of cheques amounting to P1.8 million to the beneficiaries of Tulong Negosyo program (formerly Dagdag Puhunan) facilitated by the Joint Resource Financing at Muntinlupa City Hall, Brgy. Putatan last June 2.

“The City Government of Muntinlupa vows to support grassroot players through additional capital loan assistance and other capacity building trainings for them to thrive their business in the city,” Fresnedi said.

Tulong Negosyo program caters to SMEs and provides micro finance assistance which ranges from 2,000 up to 150,000 pesos depending on business capital ceiling and payment record.

 

CHAMPIONING SMEs IN MUNTI: Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi leads the distribution of cheques amounting to P1.8 million to clients of Tulong Negosyo, a micro finance program which provides zero-percent interest loan to budding entrepreneurs dubbed as “Muntipreneurs.” Fresnedi vows to support grassroot players in achieving the city’s vision to be one of the leading investment hubs in the country. Tulong Negosyo program provides loan assistance which ranges from 2,000 up to 150,000 pesos depending on business capital ceiling and payment record.

The program has three categories namely: Simulang Kapital (SIKAP) Pangkabuhayan for clients with capital ranging from 10,000 – 75,000 pesos, Asenso Loan Program for clients with capital ranging from 75,000 – 100,000 pesos, and Maunlad Loan Program for clients with capital ranging from 150,000 – 300,000 pesos.

Among the Batch 70 beneficiaries was Brgy. Poblacion rice dealer and fish supplier Ronnel Espinosa who received P100,000 loan assistance.

A Savings Program has been incorporated in the loan assistance to teach clients about the importance of economizing and serve as protection to the clients and the program.

In addition, entrepreneurial education through trainings and other related interventions have been implemented for the beneficiaries.

On July, the Joint Resource Financing department is set to partner with Coca-Cola and TESDA to conduct the Sari-sari Store Training and Access to Resources (STAR) program, a series of entrepreneurial lectures for Tulong Negosyo clients.

To date, the Tulong Negosyo program serves to almost 5,600 beneficiaries.
