2 women stabbed dead in Las Piñas

MANILA, Philippines – Two women were stabbed dead in Las Piñas City early Tuesday following a reported argument with three unidentified men, police said.

Las Piñas City Police identified one of the victims as Aranza Mendez, alias Dang, of Valley 6  Parañaque City. Her unidentified companion, described to be between 30 and 35 years of age was rushed to the Las Piñas District Hospital but died on arrival.

According to initial police investigation, the two women were last seen walking with the three unidentified men at around 3 a.m. along Canaynay Road when the altercation happened.

Police said  that during the argument,  one of the suspects took out a knife and attacked the two women.

Police said that Mendez died on the spot while the other unidentified woman, who was stabbed in the chest, still managed to run away from the men before collapsing.

According to police, the stabbings could have been triggered by a drug deal that went sour.
