Sr. Supt. Jemar Modequillo, Paranaque City police chief, said the incident happened at about 10:50 p.m. along Sitio Sto. Nino, Greenhills, Barangay San Dionisio, Paranaque City.

Modequillo said that prior to the encounter, members of the Police Community Precinct (PCP-4)

were conducting routine patrol when a concerned citizen called up and reported that “Jong” was sighted at the given place.

He said that members of the PCP-4 immediately responded and tried to arrest “Jong” and his companion in a motorcycle.

The police chief said that the suspects, instead of surrendering peacefully, sped off going to the direction of Olivarez Compound but were blocked by another patrolling mobile car.

Modequillo said that  “Jong” with drawn firearm alighted from the motorcycle and fired at  the responding policemen forcing the latter to return fire.

Recovered from the crime scene were one .22 caliber with 7 live ammunition and one fired cartridge, one .38 caliber revolver with three live ammunitions, 12 sachets of suspected shabu, one weighing scale, one aluminum foil and seven empty shells of 9mm pistol. (Jean Fernando)
